Why Winter Is The Perfect Time To Start Laser Hair Removal...

If one of your 2026 goals is to ditch the razor... now is the best time of the year to start laser hair removal. Although it’s associated with summer prep, starting this treatment in the winter months gives you better results leading to smoother skin by the time the warmer weather arrives.

Less Sun Exposure = Better Safer Results

Laser hair removal works best on lighter, untanned skin because the laser targets the pigment in the hair. During winter, most people have minimal sun exposure, which reduces the complications of sensitivity or pigmentation changes.

You’re More Likely to Stick to Your Treatment Plan

A new year is often time to reset. New routines and new focus on self-care makes it much easier to commit to a treatment plan of regular appointments. Consistency is key with laser hair removal, starting in the new year gives you the motivation to follow through properly. There is also less pressure compared to spring or summer, when holidays, events, and busy

schedules can interrupt your treatment plan.

Laser Hair Removal FAQs

Is Laser hair removal permanent?

For most people, laser hair removal offers long term permanent hair reduction, with many clients seeing little to no regrowth over time. Any hair that does return is usually much finer, lighter and slower growing. Hormonal changes or certain medications can affect long term results and occasional maintenance sessions may be recommended for some clients.

When will I start seeing results?

You will see reduced regrowth after the first few sessions, with hair becoming slower growing, finer and significantly reduced. Results improve progressively throughout your treatment course.

Can I shave between appointments?

Yes – you can shave between appointments. However, waxing or plucking the hair should be avoided during your course as these hair removal methods remove the hair follicle that the laser needs to target.

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

The number of treatments needed will vary individually and this cannot be accurately predicted in advance. This is because the hair growth is influenced by multiple factors including hair colour, hair growth cycles, hormones, treatment area and personal response to laser. Results are assessed and reviewed at each visit to the clinic, treatments are tailored based on the individual and how well they respond to ensure safe, effective and realistic outcomes.

Is laser hair removal painful?

Sensation varies from person to person, but most clients describe the treatment as a warm snap or flick against the skin. Laser technology is designed with comfort in mind and treatments are generally well tolerated, especially when hair becomes finer over time.

How do I prepare for laser hair removal?

Before starting laser hair removal, a consultation and patch test are required to ensure the treatment is safe and suitable for your skin and hair type. The patch test allows us to assess how your skin responds to the laser and finding the most effective and appropriate settings.

To prepare for your patch test and treatment, you will be advised to:

• Shave the area 24 hours before treatment (do not pluck, wax and epilate)

• Avoid sun exposure or fake tan for at least 2 weeks prior

• If treatment area is on the face stop active skincare products 3-5 days before treatment (Retinols, active acids or prescription creams)

• Arrive with clean, product free skin on the treatment area

Start now, Enjoy the results later

The winter is not just a good time to start - it’s a smart time. By beginning your treatment course early, you give yourself the best chance of achieving smooth, low maintenance skin just in time for spring and summer, without rushing or compromising results. If you’ve been thinking about having laser hair removal, consider this your sign to start now – your future self will thank you.
